As an athletic trainer and sports & orthopedic certified physical therapist, Angela has worked with athletes at all levels, from weekend warriors to professional athletes. Through her personal and clinical experience, she knows what it is like to be sidelined by injury and what kind of toll that can take not just physically, but emotionally. She is passionate about learning each patient’s story and understanding their goals, whether it be to return to competitive athletics or daily routines. She believes the key to long term success is empowering the patient with education and tools for self-management - from day one to discharge.
Angela is recognized as a Board Certified Specialist in both Orthopedics and Sports by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists; she is part of an elite group of physical therapists nationwide to have dual board certification. For the past 12 years she has worked as a physical therapist, clinical instructor, and residency mentor in University of Delaware’s Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Clinic, as well as a Research PT and Assistant Professor of Practice in the nation’s #1 ranked Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Angela provides continuing education at the professional level via national presentations on sports medicine topics and authorship of book chapters and journal articles on ACL and tendon injuries.
Angela is a fitness enthusiast and die-hard Philly sports fan. She played soccer for over 20 years, has completed several sprint triathlons and one (and only one!) marathon. These days you will find her up before the sun working out at her local CrossFit box. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and 3 young children.
At Balance Physical Therapy, Angela will bring her rich clinical experience, rooted in evidence-based treatment and cutting-edge research, to the private practice setting. She is committed to continuing to raise the bar in physical therapy care in Delaware. She looks forward to working with the Wilmington community to build, maintain, and engage in an active, balanced lifestyle via personalized, one-on-one care.
